Major developments have emerged regarding the future of Spor Toto's Slovenian handball player Tobias Cvetko in Turkish handball.
According to the latest information, Cvetko — who played for Beşiktaş during the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 seasons before joining Spor Toto for the 2025–2026 campaign — is expected to begin the process of obtaining Turkish citizenship.
Once the citizenship procedure is completed, the 29-year-old Slovenian backcourt player is reportedly set to become eligible to represent the Türkiye Men’s National Handball Team at senior international level.
Cvetko has frequently expressed how happy he and his family are living in Türkiye, and reports suggest that his club future for next season is also close to being finalized.
It is understood that the Slovenian international is preparing to leave Spor Toto at the end of the current season and has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Beşiktaş.
